When caring for a person with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease you are faced with many hard decisions. With the help of Atlantic Homelife Senior Care, you don’t have to go it alone. We can help you maintain your loved ones independence as long as possible by helping keep their comforting daily routines and the familiar surroundings of home for as long as possible, avoiding the emotional trauma of leaving all that they know and love. Our team has extensive training in the special needs of Alzheimer’s patients and can set up a plan of care that changes as their needs and stages of the disease change.
Being a caregiver for a family member can be challenging, lonely and at times, overwhelming. It is easy to forget ones own physical and emotional wellbeing. It is vital for all caregivers to have occasional breaks from the care giving roll to prevent burnout and exhaustion. Respite care allows the family care givers time to take care of their own needs and renew their energy. They are then able return to their care giving roll with their physical and emotional energy renewed.
Respite care can be provided for a few hours, overnight or for several days depending on the needs of the family and the individual needing care.
Atlantic Homelife Senior Care’s skilled nurses are available to work with your physician to provide in-home medical treatments and medication management such as pre-pouring of medication.
